Head uut aastat! Happy New Year!

Head uut aastat, armsad kaasteelised! Soovin, et igaühe teie uus aastakümme tooks palju rõõme, rahulolu ja laseks täide minna südamesoovidel!

Meie president Kersti Kaljulaid tuletas oma aastalõpukõnes kuulajaile meelde, et erinevused rikastavad, mille tõttu peaksime olema kõigi kõrvalekallete suhtes enda ümber sallivamad ja osavõtlikumad. Olen selle mõtteviisiga väga nõus – usun päris siiralt, et iga uue erilisusega tutvumine/selle tundmaõppimine lihvib ühe lisatahu meie olemusest – ja rohkemate tahkudega vääriskivi on teadupärast väärtuslikum. Mineraalide puhul on see tingitud küll valguse peegeldusvõimaluste hulga suurenemises, mille tõttu näib kalliskivi säravam, aga ka inimese valguspeegeldusvõimet tagasi maailma ei saa alahinnata. Suhtuge sallivalt ja õppige tundma teist erinevaid – see võib osutuda ääretult rikastavaks.

Meie tüvitekstil põhineva suurfilmi “Tõde ja õigus” lõputiitrite ajal kõlab noore helilooja Pärt Uusbergi teos Doris Kareva sõnadele “Mis on inimene?”.

Happy new year, my dear co-thinkers! I wish that the new decade will bring lots of joys, peace of mind and would fill the deepest wishes to each and every one of you!

Our president Kersti Kaljulaid reminded us in the new year’s speech that differences are enriching, which is why we should be more tolerant and sympathetic towards the different ones. I very much agree with that statement  – I sincerely believe that getting to know a new variation polishes a new facet of our personality and as we well know – the more facets a rock has, the more valuable it is. With minerals it is due to a growing number of light reflection possibilities, which makes the rock seemingly more shiny but I wouldn’t underestimate reflection possibilities in humen. Be tolerant and learn to know the differencies in others – that could be tremendously enriching.

In the final captions of the grand movie “Truth and Justice”, based on Estonia’s base text that very well reflects the real Estonian attitude towards life, work and famiy, a song “What is a man?” by the poet Doris Kareva and composer Pärt Uusberg a question is raised if a man is a shadow of an angel but also reminded that “Care, and you shall be cared for” – I think truth can be found in that statement and we shouldn’t forget it easily.

I wish you a miraculous new year and decade filled with many breakthroughs, my dear co-thinkers!
