Sünnipäevaks soovin jõuluimesid / Wishing Christamas miracles for my Birthday

Huvitval kombel tähistab (sellises vanuses naiste puhul on see termin ilmselt pisut liiga optimistlik) Wikipedia andmetel täna sünnipäeva ka armastatud muusikamaailma superstaar Tina Turner.

Iseseisev kõnd on arenenud küllaltki palju ning on mu lähedaste hinnangul juba kohati (mitte just liiga tihti) üsna loomuliku kõnni moodi.

————————————————————————————————————————————

First of all, I warmly thank all the comments here and in other channels. You give me a lot of strength and reinforce my will-power!

I would like to remind everyone the essential truth of the heart, which an Estonian tele-journalist Vahur Kersna gave in an interview – we have to stop living as a kind of eternal phenomenon, and remind ourselves that, for us, tomorrow may not come. It is necessary to express the words and deeds today, important can not be delayed. The fate reminded me that truth very strongly and took me to tomorrow very scarcely.

I would like to emphasize the doubters that I had the helmet (most likely helmet was the one to save my life on that road) and the travel insurance (the maximum amount that this insurance company offered) for 100 000 euros. I began to re-use the computer for about half a year after the accident and Googled my name for some reason. As a result, I came across the article about my fundraising. For some totally inexplicable reason I read the comments, which accused me of not wearing a helmet and not having the travel insurance. This issue has now escalated in connection with the famous Estonian personal trainer´s son scooter accident in Thailand, where the young man was not defended by the helmet nor the travel insurance as it seemed at the beginning. I can assure you that I had travel insurance, which would´ve been enough for a less severe case of injury. Most of the money that the insurance paid was used for the hospital bill (it was much prouder and more modern than any hospital that I know), but it wasn´t enough for the Air Ambulance aircraft that was needed with my condition. Thank you so much for helping me return to my homeland!
The prerequisite for the insurance payment was the existence of the helmet (it was pink, if anyone cares). Additionally the absence of alcohol or drugs use (these samples were taken from the blood, I was not very robust blower unconsciously) was necessary. Helmet that flew from my head left very deep blue traces under the chin and close to ears.

Today, the third year of my new life is filled, the previous life ended at the age of 27. Although I decorate myself with the feathers gathered during my previous life, there are some aspects, however, that have changed. In addition to very large changes in my taste preference and contempt of alcohol, I am now much calmer and more balanced in my activities. Also, I consider myself much smarter and more experienced in many ways.
With great pride I can announce that my lifesaver, Cambodian neurosurgeon Dr. Sokchan, also has a birthday today. Understandably, I am extremely grateful to him for he gave me life on his birthday (it is quite remarkable that, in addition to his big day, she came to operate me on Saturday – it is, after all, the true pleasure for working people). Interestingly, also the music world superstar Tina Turner celebrates (in the case of women of that age, the term is probably a bit too optimistic) her birthday today, according to Wikipedia.

The terms of the timeline, indicating the periods before and after the accident, are there and will probably remain forever. The accident turned a new page in my life, where I hope to write very great achievements.

Who remembers me better before the accident, knows that I tended to speak at supersonic speeds, I was also very quick physically (rushed a lot). Now I’ve learned to speak slowly, otherwise nobody could understand me.
Before the accident I tended to reach for high decibels in my speech, while today, I have a habit of talking very quietly. The breathing-machine tube was put into the lungs orally in Cambodia and had to be changed quite often. As a result, one of the vocal chords was seriously injured. If I would like to be able to continue to make a sound, I am not allowed to speak loudly over the background noise. The newly acquired walking is also so-so much slower and uncertain compared to my previous rush. I constantly deal with increasing speed. My close ones are willing to go to the store with me only if I use the wheelchair because my superslow walk using the stick quickly makes them irritated.

What have I achieved in these it three years? If you look at the situation I had to start from, quite a lot. Of course, one mustn´t forget that there is still quite a long way to go, but I get a sense of great joy to announce that I´m on my way to conquer new achievements.
Illustrating this, a dear close friend pointed out that the school of life is eternal, and offers both scheduled for the impromptu subjects – I could have never planned to start learning to walk, talk or use my hand.

Independent walking has evolved quite a lot, and my close ones have said that it sometimes (not very often, though) looks fairly natural. In addition, a small inkling of self-confidence is arriving in self-walking and understandably I enjoy this activity extremely much. Because my walking ability outside the workout time has not yet achieved, is incredibly frustrating. But luckily, I move towards it.

My beloved classmate from high-school asked to add here her observation that walking on the stairs is pretty good already. I had to learn it quickly enough because in my parents’ home, where I live on weekdays, life mainly takes place on the second floor, and my own home is located on the third floor (fourth from the garage), so there has been quite some climbing.

The Botox injections to selected muscles in hand have given an opportunity to their opposite-muscles to start gathering strength once again and move so very little. Their capability is still too small to assist me in everyday life. Given the good effects of injections, the therapist plans to inject Botox again in my hand and leg after a few months to give my muscles a new opportunity.

Similarly, several close people have observed my greatly improved diction, which has significantly increased intelligibility – of course, I’m immensely proud over it.

From a television advertisement I heard that life is a process. Looking at my own life, it more and more seems to me that really is a life really is an adventure – my adventure has been extremely similar to the fast alternating carousel. Three years ago it added a great deal of spice to what I have to continue to digest. I hope that my adventure continues in a somewhat peaceful manner. Many of you probably do not know that my adventure has had bigger drops in the past, one of which I was as a result of the accident in the sea brought back with a rescue helicopter.

A friend of mine who struggles with a painful spinal disease, expressed her deep belief that one day we fully recover and mentioned that we are women made of steel. Although I am not fully convinced that I deserve such a noble title, the more I thought about that, given the enormous heterogeneity of the human race, then maybe some of us are created in steel, so that some can be made of strawberry foam. I am confident that you will find both types in your own surroundings.

To speed up the recovery, I exercise every day and must admit that my body is not, unfortunately, indefatigable (this is, of course, a slight contrary to what is stated in the previous section), and has occasionally shown a very clear and disturbing signs of overload. In the future I will try to maintain a better balance between moments of exercise and rest.

Life brings us roses and mud. And everything should be looked/ assessed on the basis of the background of these situations (like my high-school physics teacher liked to point out, for obvious reasons). Ten days ago, my life threw a large truckload of dirt (which I do not want to go into the details) on my way, and with it broke the picture of my future like a teenager angrily rips a poster off the wall. As a reference system, the dirt thrown on my way three years ago, seems somewhat smaller and paler now. In your life events suggest you also to assess your life events to the background of circumstances – whether the sharpness of the spear put on your heart can be dazed a bit more with a bigger number of roses of life? I believe in balance in our lives, you will probably notice the mud and roses if you use attentive eye watching your lives. Waiting for the roses.

In the background of my sad life over the past few years, I remembered a very great talent Steve Jobs giving a speech to Stanford University graduates in 2005. He pointed out that the events that seemed like great disasters in time which they occurred were the prerequisites for large and partially even world-changing events about 10 years later. I sincerely hope that my experiences will give me the ability to change the world.

  1. Keep being strong and I do believe that just as the quote from Jobs – you have the power to achieve great things. I think your willpower will overcome things in the end despite the fact that it may take a long time.
I know we haven’t seen each other since just before your life changed but I look forward to seeing you at some stage in the future. Until then sending you lots of positive thoughts and wishes
